About ACM-W (Association for Computing Machinery –Women)

The Association for Computing Machinery’s Council on Women in Computing (ACM-W) is a global initiative dedicated to supporting, celebrating, and advocating for the full engagement of women in the field of computing. It aims to promote gender diversity, equal opportunities, and professional growth by encouraging women to explore and excel in computing and related technological domains. ACM-W provides a platform for women students, researchers, educators, and professionals to connect, share knowledge, develop technical expertise, and build strong professional networks.

The MLEW ACM-W Student Chapter is a student-led community established to encourage learning, collaboration, innovation, and professional development among students interested in computing and emerging technologies. The chapter provides opportunities for students to enhance their technical knowledge, improve communication and leadership skills, and gain practical exposure to current industry trends. It can organize technical workshops, hands-on training sessions, coding competitions, guest lectures, peer-learning activities, research discussions, seminars, and career guidance programmes based on student interests and available resources.

The chapter also encourages teamwork, creativity, problem-solving, and active participation in academic and professional activities. Through interactions with industry experts, faculty members, researchers, and fellow students, members can gain valuable insights into career opportunities and higher education. Overall, the MLEW ACM-W Student Chapter strives to create an inclusive and supportive environment that empowers women in computing to develop their potential, pursue leadership roles, and contribute meaningfully to technological innovation and society.
