Industry Institute Innovation Cell

 

The cell acts as an institutional mechanism for providing various services, including information to budding student entrepreneurs. EDC fosters an entrepreneurial culture among students.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • 1. Promote Innovation and Startups

    • Encourage students, faculty, and staff to think innovatively and pursue entrepreneurship.
    • Organize ideation, innovation, and design-thinking workshops.
    • Facilitate the creation of startups by providing guidance and resources.

    2. Organize Events and Activities

    • Conduct Hackathons, boot camps, and innovation contests.
    • Host expert talks, webinars, and panel discussions with entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and investors.
    • Celebrate Innovation Day and other national-level innovation campaigns.

    3. Facilitate Industry-Academia Interaction

    • Foster collaboration with industries to bridge the gap between academia and real-world applications.
    • Engage with mentors and incubators for knowledge exchange and support.

    4. Encourage Intellectual Property (IP) Management

    • Promote awareness of intellectual property rights (IPR) among students and faculty.
    • Assist innovators in filing patents, trademarks, and copyrights.

    5. Nurture Innovation through Resources

    • Provide access to labs, workspaces, and funds for innovation projects.
    • Support participation in state, national, and international-level competitions.

    6. Support Incubation and Funding

    • Collaborate with government schemes and programs like MSME and Startup India.
    • Help innovators and startups secure seed funding and grants.

    7. Foster Entrepreneurship

    • Encourage entrepreneurial thinking through case studies and success stories.
    • Provide mentorship to students and startups for business plan development.

    8. Periodic Reporting

    • Submit activity reports to the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC).
    • Evaluate progress and impact through regular feedback and assessments.

    9. Promote Innovation Ecosystem

    • Develop a robust ecosystem for innovation and research within the institution.
    • Collaborate with regional and national innovation councils.

    10. Capacity Building

    • Train faculty to mentor and support innovation-related activities.
    • Facilitate workshops to enhance leadership and innovation management skills.
